Rich JonesJacksonville, Fl — Welcome to summer! Our average high is 90 degrees and, after a comfortable overnight, temperatures this afternoon will approach 90 inland. And heat is going to build by mid-week through the weekend.
Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says humidity will not be terribly high today or tonight, with lows once again falling into the upper 60s.Wednesday is when the next heat wave begins. Temperature will reach the mid to upper 90s. The record is 99 degrees, set in 1970.Buresh says our first chance for rain this week is going to be on Thursday, but showers will be isolated so many neighborhoods will be dry.
Scattered showers and storms return Friday and into the weekend as the sea breeze gets a little more active.
