First responders, witnesses react to fatal plane crash in Snohomish

Witnesses told KIRO 7 it first seemed as if the pilot of the plane was doing a training exercise or stunt.

VIDEO: 2 dead after plane crashes, catches fire in field near Snohomish, and the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are now leading the investigation.“The terrain and the vegetation and where we were at was extremely difficult to access,” Snohomish District 4 Fire Chief Don Waller said.

“It was one of those random things that honestly, I couldn’t believe was happening. And that I was witnessing it in real time,” Haugen said. Both he and a witness to the crash rushed down to try and help. He says he jumped on his dirt bike and got close to the crash itself.He says while there wasn’t much that could’ve been done to save the people on board, he is still shocked and heartbroken by it all.
