City Hall plans to change trash pick-up days for some households by the end of the year, marking a first since what's believed to be the 1950s.CLEVELAND, Ohio – The city of Cleveland is preparing to shift trash pick-up days for some residents in what’s believed to be the first such shake-up since the 1950s.
The population has fallen dramatically since then, down to 373,000 in 2020. Development and settlement patterns are drastically different now too. That creates problems for waste collectors. That’s why City Hall is looking to make changes, in a process they call “rebalancing.” The goal is to spread the workload more evenly and provide more consistent service. Williams said employee wellness is the chief concern.
