UTSA quarterback Frank Harris has acknowledged that his name, image and likeness deal with the PM Group that’s worth “six figures” played a major part in his decision to return to the Roadrunners for one more season.From the time Jeff Traylor was hired at UTSA in December 2019, he promised to spend his first three years at a full sprint, whether that meant working on the program internally or accepting every speaking engagement he could to help build the Roadrunners brand.
“There’s no doubt I am tired, because it never stops,” Traylor said. “But it’s a great tired. It’s a very rewarding tired, because of my players.”Roadrunners running back Kevorian Barnes is returning from offseason surgery.Returning an experienced roster with a handful of multiyear starters, Traylor is focused on preserving the veterans’ health and diverting practice snaps to younger, unproven players.
“I’m really trying to get them to take a slow approach to this deal, help me coach this team, get these young guys ready,” Traylor said. “Let’s make it so these old guys are just dying to play next year.” Traylor said the competition is open to every player on the roster at this early stage of the process, including players trying their hand at new roles.
