NEW YORK CITY -- For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, Fleet Week has returned in person in New York City.
"Being able to pull up here and fly and see where I grew up, it's awesome," said Bryce Batiancela, with U.S. Navy, who was born and raised on Staten Island."Just wanted to do something better for myself, better for my family," he said."I thought, let me just go ahead and push it to the limits and see what I can do."
Fleet Week bring 3,000 Sailors, Marines, and Coastguardsmen to New York City, and the week-long celebration includes scores of events.Sgt. Dean Zammit, from South Brunswick, was once the kid taking it all in riverside. Now, he wears the uniform, a proud Marine.
