A nonprofit group in Florida is partnering with a conservative book company for a fundraiser to provide family-friendly books to school libraries.

The partnership between Citizens Defending Freedom and BRAVE Books is meant to counter the wave of sexually explicit books that have been found in schools across the United States, which has become a major talking point for conservative lawmakers. The goal of the fundraiser is to donate 500 books to public schools by the end of the year, according to a press release.

The fundraiser began on Wednesday and will last through Nov. 28, Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. There are different tiers of donations that one can donate to the fundraiser, with $50 donations getting entered into a raffle for a coffee tumbler and $100 also getting entered into the raffle and getting recognition for their donation on CDF's weekly show and on social media.

Various children's books from BRAVE Books will be donated through this fundraiser, including three written by Kirk Cameron, As You Grow, The FOX the Fair and the Invention Scare, and Pride Comes Before the Fall. Two other books will also be donated: Son of Truth by Graham Allen and That’s What Families Are For by Nicole Saphier.

“Citizens Defending Freedom has been on the front lines of ridding our public schools of age-inappropriate materials that have been made widely available to children all over the country,” Rives said. “Our next step is to offer wholesome, family-friendly material as an alternative to the violent and pornographic materials in those schools, and that’s why during this Giving Season, we’re planning to flood public school libraries with content that is appropriate for children.
