The industry continues to react to Tesla and others slashing EV prices.
Ford notes the Nite Pony appearance package's price hasn't changed at $800, and the GT Performance package is also unchanged, sticking with its $6,000 price tag.
That leaves the standard-range Mach-E rear-wheel-drive with a new starting price of $45,995 before any incentives. Right now, the Tesla Model Y is listed for sale on the automaker's website for $53,490 for the dual-motor long-range model, and $56,990 for the Performance model, before any potential incentives are applied., any existing Mach-E customers awaiting delivery of their vehicle will automatically be adjusted to the lower price.
Ford says two-thirds of Mach-E customers are conquests, meaning the customers are coming to Ford from competitive brands, and the new lower prices will only inspire more. The Mach-E was the third best-selling EV in the U.S. in 2022, and has helped make Ford the number two EV automaker in the country, only behind Tesla.
