Former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook, whose 15 seasons with the team included winning three Stanley Cup championships, and his wife, Dayna, on June 6 sold their six-bedroom house in Lakeview’s Southport Corridor for $2.8 million. They also sold an adjacent vacant lot for $1.3 million.A British Columbia native, Seabrook, 38, debuted with the Blackhawks at age 20 and announced an end to his playing career in 2021 due to injury.

In December 2015, Seabrook and his wife paid $2.9 million to buy the house from its homebuilder. Features in the house at that time included four full bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, custom millwork,5-inch-wide plank oak floors, a three-car garage and 6,300 square feet of living space. The couple then paid $1.33 million in February 2016 for a three-story, 122-year-old, 2,016-square-foot wood frame house immediately to the south.

Now, the Seabrooks have unloaded their Southport Corridor spread, selling each parcel at a slight loss. Records show that the same buyer — an opaque land trust whose beneficiary could not yet be determined — purchased both parcels. The couple never placed their properties publicly for sale, and instead sold them in an off-market transaction. The Seabrooks’ permanent home is in West Kelowna, British Columbia.
