An investigation started after online post made numerous allegations against the Ocean City Beach Patrol.
Detectives began investigating Howell in April 2021 when they learned ofagainst the beach patrol, according to Cape May Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland.
The post included stories of sexual assault against underage girls, along with heavy drug and alcohol use. Detectives obtained a search warrant that was executed in 2022 at Howell’s home and arrested him a short time later.
