Former Ohio State guard Amedeo Della Valle earns MVP honors in Lega Basket Serie A, the top professional basketball league in Italy.

Della Valle led Germani Brescia to a third-place finish in the Serie A standings this season by scoring 18.5 points per game – the second-most in the league – while leading the league in true shooting percentage . Della Valle also averaged a career-high four assists per game and 2.8 rebounds per game while leading the league with 132 made free throws on 147 attempts.

The former Buckeye, who averaged just 3.6 points per game as a backup guard at Ohio State, will now look to lead his squad on a run through the Serie A playoffs. Germani Brescia is set to play Banco di Sardegna Sassari in the quarterfinals of this year’s playoffs, starting Monday.
