A former Pro-Bowl running back has officially called it a career.
One of the better running backs from the last 10 years has officially called it a career. Former Pro Bowl and All-Pro running back David Johnson announced that he would be retiring from the NFL. Johnson was a special player and for those who were lucky enough to watch him play, they likely remember how dominant he was at times.Injuries heavily impacted his career; otherwise, we may have witnessed a truly impressive tenure.
It ended up being an MCL sprain that didn't require surgery, so he dodged a bullet, at least for the time being. In the season opener the following year, Johnson suffered a left wrist injury that was revealed to be a dislocation that required surgery. He was placed on injured reserve and was ruled out for the rest of the season a few months later.Johnson played two more seasons with Arizona but could never capture the magic from his 2016 season.
