The investigation found that Ryan responded to a call for a disturbance involving a subject on Sept. 28, 2019. During the interaction, investigators found that Ryan used profane language and physically assaulted the subject by shoving him several times, the department said in a press release Tuesday.

Police Chief Neil Noakes agreed with the chain of command's determination that Ryan violated department policies and fired him, according to the release. "In this case, Officer Ryan did not conduct himself in a manner that represents the professionalism of law enforcement," the release states."The department will continue to hold employees accountable who do not meet the standards expected of a Fort Worth Police Officer and in doing so, will continue to be transparent with our community."
