Rookie point guard Andrew Nembhard scored 31 points and had 13 assists to lead the undermanned Pacers to an upset of the defending champion Warriors.

Nembhard kept the Pacers offense rolling at a steady pace without making it seem like he was going too quick. He attacked the paint without making any bull-headed drives or moving too fast to make a pass or a smarter play. He scored 31 points on 13-of-21 shooting, almost doubling his career high of 16. He made 5-of-7 3-pointers but was at his best getting to the paint.

Nembhard drew the primary defensive assignment on two-time MVP Stephen Curry. The Pacers switched almost everything against the league's all-time leader in 3-pointers, but Nembhard was at the point of attack, and he made Curry's evening extremely difficult. In the first half, Curry scored just four points on 1-of-7 shooting and didn't have a 3-pointer.

"Just playing my game," Smith said."Rebound, block shots, finish around the rim, make an open shot if I have it, just pretty much just lock in on defense. Obviously with Myles not being in the game, that takes away a lot of rim protection. We had to step up in that department. With James Johnson, T.J. McConnell and Myles Turner all out, the Pacers had just one available player over the age of 25 and it was Hield.
