Frassati Catholic swim teams headed to TAPPS state championships
The Spring Frassati Catholic boys swimming team won the TAPPS Division II Eastern Regional Championship with 122 points.Traditionally, Frassati Catholic’s swimming program has been carried by upperclassmen. Now, the Falcons’ strength comes from underclassmen.
Frassati Catholic of Spring will compete in the TAPPS 2023 State Swimming Championships for Division II, which will be held Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio. The girls won the regional championship with 134 points, ahead of St. John XXIII , Fort Bend Christian and The Woodlands Christian Academy . The Lady Falcons won five events, including two relays.
The girls team of sophomore Jimena de la Maza, junior Virginia Davis, junior Kathryn Vieceli and sophomore Alison Voisin won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:02.17 and the team of freshman Natalia Kacprzak, Davis, Voisin and Vieceli placed first in the 200-yard freestyle relay .
