Kollie, of Kettering, ordered for Betts and had shipped to his home a key component and accessories for the .223-caliber semi-automatic rifle Betts used. The two were friends, prosecutors said. Kollie told investigators he smoked marijuana every day “and had done so since he was 14," according to court transcripts. He also said he"microdoses on the mushrooms on a constant basis."Prosecutors said:"When society needed a responsible, clear-thinking person in the room, it got a regular drug user, with resulting impaired judgment."
Prosecutors are asking U.S. District Judge Thomas Rose to impose a prison sentence between 33 and 41 months.
