As the founder of Story Place Media, Adeniz Villar credits peer mentorship, her roots, and staying the course, with her success.
Adeniz Villar knew she would find her passion, she just had to keep asking herself the right questions.
In 2016, Villar took her self-awareness and used it as the foundation for Story Place Media, a creative marketing agency she founded that works off her main skills and passion points. Villar wanted to help others tell the most cohesive brand stories possible and she wanted to do it in the most innovative ways.
Growing up feeling marginalized and uninvited because of her Latinidad for Villar it was essential that her work contributed to making others feel like they belonged, particularly online. Below Villar shares more insight into how she got her start and what advice she would share with others. What inspired you to pursue a career in digital storytelling and helping brands tell their own stories? As a child, I loved books. I spent hours at the local library, I’d read in the backseat of my mom’s car, and with a flashlight in my bed at night. As I grew older, I began to love movies as well. What I was drawn to in all those books and films were the stories.
