Frontier Airlines has a new plan to have its own 14 gate facility at Denver International Airport.

The facility would be for ground boarding only. That means passengers would go out to the tarmac to get on their flights.

Boarding and deplaning would happen from the front and rear of the aircraft, which could cut down on wait times significantly. The airline announced the plan before a Denver City Council committee. It’s expected to go to the full council later this month.Jesse Sarles writes and edits stories about Colorado and the Denver metro area for CBSDenver.com.
