Fuller House in Hinsdale, suffered roughly $300,000 worth in damages on Sept. 3, and will remain closed until further notice.

Tuesday, the Fuller House, an American style tavern located at 35 E 1st Street, Hinsdale, announced a temporary closure following a fire that broke out in its kitchen Sunday.

After a call went out to the DuPage Public Safety Communications Center, a Hinsdale fire truck, engine and ambulance were dispatched, leading to an evacuation of the premises.According to the Hinsdale Fire Department, no injuries were reported, but the tavern was heavily damaged. The restaurant suffered roughly $300,000 in damages, and will remain closed until further notice, according to a news release by the Village of Hinsdale.According to the fire department, a grill in the tavern’s kitchen had caught on fire and burned inside the walls. “Hinsdale firefighters used hand tools to open up the walls, found the fire, and quickly extinguished it.”

According to the news release, firefighters from neighboring Clarendon Hills, Western Springs, La Grange and the Pleasantview Fire Protection District assisted in smoke clearance and investigative efforts. “Thankfully everyone remained safe and the Hinsdale Fire Department was amazing through it all,” Sam Vlahos, co-owner of the Fuller House, said in a statement to The Doings. “We are working diligently with our restoration team, insurance company and Village of Hinsdale to assess the damage and hope to have more information later this week.”
