Ganassi Cadillac leads Daytona as leaders separate overnight.
Early in the night at the 24 Hours of Daytona, seven cars remained in contention for the overall win. After the latest hours of the night and earliest hours of the morning, just three cars remain on the lead lap in the new-for-2023 GTP class.
The No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing-run Cadillac V-LMDh leads the trio, while the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06 sits in second and the No. 02 Ganassi Cadillac runs third. Every other entry in the nine-car class has suffered at least a minor issue overnight. Both the No. 10 and No. 60 Acuras underwent an oil flush during a caution, but only the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing entry needed to drop behind the wall for the procedure and fell a few laps down in the process. The No.
With IMSA's generous wave-around procedures, all three cars running fourth through sixth could theoretically return to the lead lap with a flurry of late cautions and climb back into contention. The No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac was not so lucky. That car has fallen 17 laps behind the leaders, suffering after contact with a GTD car late in the night. The No. 7 Porsche runs 33 laps down after its second trip to the garage of the day, while No.
