The child's blood-alcohol level was more than four times over the legal limit for an adult, and both parents now face murder charges.

Sydnei Moran Dunn, 24, and Marquis Simon Colvin, each are charged with malice murder, second-degree murder, first-degree cruelty to children and reckless conduct, according to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. Colvin also is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a parole violation. Both are being held in jail without bond.
Detectives spoke with Dunn and Colvin, and Dunn initially said she had consumed a large amount of alcohol the day before and the child might have alcohol poisoning from breast-feeding. She then told detectives Colvin put alcohol in the baby’s bottle. She said they went to the hospital when the baby became unresponsive.
