The driver of a pickup truck that hit a 5-year-old girl and a woman Saturday afternoon in Oakland’s Fruitvale district and kept going is being sought by police.

OAKLAND — A 5-year-old girl and a woman were hospitalized Saturday afternoon after they were struck in the Fruitvale district by a pick-up truck that kept going, police said.

The collision happened about noon Saturday at the intersection of 34th Avenue and International Boulevard. Police described the truck as a silver 2000s Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra that had an 8-foot bed. A detailed description of the driver has not been released.
