HistoryAttorney Rudy Giuliani sued President Joe Biden and his campaign for defamation on Wednesday, taking aim at the president after he made disparaging comments about Giuliani at a 2020 presidential debate.
The lawsuit takes aim at Biden’s assertion during the debate that Giuliani was “being used as a Russian pawn” and “being fed information that is Russian that is not true.” The president also said conspiracy theories against him, which purportedly came from leaked information from his son Hunter Biden’s laptop, were “a Russian plant,” saying then-President Donald Trump was pushing “a bunch of garbage” by furthering the conspiracy theories and “nobody believes” the allegations except Trump and “his good friend, Rudy Giuliani.
