In a Facebook video released Friday afternoon, Dunleavy said that the check will be distributed to all eligible Alaskans.
A press release issued shortly after the video was posted states that Alaskans who have direct deposit selected can expect to receive the check on Sept. 20, while paper checks will be distributed beginning on the week of Oct. 3. In the release, Dunleavy continued advocating for a constitutional amendment.
“Alaskans have waited seven long years to receive a fair and sizable dividend, and it couldn’t have come at a more important time,” Dunleavy said in the release. “We need to stop determining what amount the PFD will be using an arbitrary political process. Alaskans deserve a constitutional amendment that protects the PFD from politicians and special interests, and sets out a funding formula we can all count on.
