JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Deshaun Watson made his Cleveland Browns debut on Friday night as Cleveland took on the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first preseason game of the year.
What Watson would do and how long he would play was maybe the biggest question coming into the game, but in the end, his debut was. In three series, the 26 year old completed 1-of-5 attempts for 7 yards and a 39.6 rating, playing without five Pro Bowlers on offense: Amari Cooper, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Joel Bitonio and Jack Conklin.
It was Watson’s first game action in 19 months. He sat out in Houston last year after asking to be traded while civil suits and sexual misconduct allegations mounted.
