An epic new Green Lantern cosplay shows why he would be the scariest Justice League member to fight. Thanks to his power ring, Green Lantern can create hard-light constructs of anything he can dream of - the only limits are his imagination and his willpower. Now, cosplayer calebweekss has unveiled an awesome new photo shoot that shows Green Lantern making the most of his ring’s fantastic powers.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Cosplayer calebweekss released the shot in a post on Instagram. The creator is dressed as Green Lantern Hal Jordan, complete with the iconic mask; and is wearing green body armor as well. Caught in what appears to be a warzone, Green Lantern is blasting pure energy out of his ring at a foe off-camera while in his other hand is an enormous, hard-light cannon, also firing at someone off-camera; these are achieved using digital effects.
Green Lantern Wields an Unlimited Arsenal There have been many Earth-based Green Lanterns throughout history, but Hal Jordan stands head and shoulders above them all. Given his power ring by the dying Abin Sur, Hal Jordan became the first human to join the Green Lantern Corps. He would in time be joined by Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner and others, but for many, Hal Jordan IS Green Lantern.
In Green Lantern lore, the GL Corps are opposed by the Sinestro Corps, who derive their power from instilling fear The twist, however, is that the most capable Green Lanterns absolutely qualify to join the Sinestro Corps, as their power terrifies the evil and cruel across the galaxy. This temptation to a darker way is always present, and it's easy to see from this cosplay how possible it would be for Hal Jordan to cross the line into inspiring righteous terror.
Calebweekss’ cosplay demonstrates the fierce nature hiding underneath Hal Jordan’s surface. He is correct in his assessment that Hal Jordan is a “regular guy,” but the cosplay shot shows that, when needed, Jordan can be downright scary; fans feel pity for whoever Green Lantern is fighting. While Green Lantern may not be the most powerful member of the Justice League, this cosplay shows that he's the most terrifying to see blasting their way across a battlefield towards you.
