Chicago's speed camera law, which issues tickets starting at 6mph over the speed limit, unfairly impact minority working class drivers, a group says.
CHICAGO -- An advocacy group says Chicago's new speed cameras, which ticket driver going 6-10 miles per hour over the speed limit, unfairly impact minority and working class commuters.
Drivers were previously only fined if they were going 10 miles per hour over the speed limit. Mayor Lori Lightfoot changed that threshold to 6 miles per hour over the speed limit.
