Rosario singled in the first and Bell walked to start the fifth. After Rosario’s single, he was forced at second by Ramírez. Following Bell’s leadoff walk in the fifth, German retired Giménez, Zunino and Will Brennan in order.
The game finally took a deep breath when Enyel De Los Santos relieved Quantrill in the eighth inning following Volpe’s one-out single. De Los Santos make a pickoff throw to first, and Volpe was originally called safe, but the Guardians challenged to slow the game to a fever pitch.
