The Browns are taking fan submissions for a new dog logo, and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has sent a letter to team owner Jimmy Haslam with its suggestion.
PETA notes the current team mascot, Swagger Jr., is a bullmastiff, known for being a breathing-impaired breed prone to heart murmurs, hip dysplasia, and other painful conditions.
Instead, PETA wants the Browns to feature a homeless dog in a way to possibly reduce the demand for full breeds and inspire fans to adopt a mixed breed through their neighborhood animal shelter.
