Guillermo del Toro was set to create a Hulk TV show for Marvel, which would have aired on ABC, but it never came to fruition for one key reason.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Marvel Cinematic Universe has no shortage of Hulk appearances across its movies and TV shows, but the angry, green monster was slated to star in his own show from Guillermo del Toro that never happened. Back in 2010, shortly after the release of the first MCU Hulk movie and Disney's acquisition of Marvel, Marvel and ABC were finalizing a deal for a Hulk show, with famed Pan's Labyrinth director del Toro at its helm.

Why Guillermo Del Toro's Hulk Show Never Happened Per the new book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios by Dave Gonzales, Joanna Robinson, and Gavin Edwards, the reason the Hulk show did not happen is del Toro was set to direct another major sci-fi monster project, Pacific Rim. As stated in the book: Del Toro's action-packed dystopian movie about giant sea monsters and robots began filming in 2011. At the time of Deadline's reporting, Marvel was hoping to launch the Hulk show soon after the release of The Avengers, meaning development and filming likely would have overlapped with the shooting of Pacific Rim.
