) - The person investigators say is responsible for shooting an 18-year-old man in Gulf Shores they night of March 27, 2024 is now behind bars. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department’s Street Crimes Unit made the arrest Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Amidst the chaos, some folks pulled out their phones and recorded the scene. Some clips show crowds of folks taking cover on the floor of a nearby restaurant. Other videos show panicked spring breakers in the streets and even the shooting victim on the ground, being tended to. The victim, who was shot once in the leg is recovering from his injury and Gulf Shores Police have been looking for the shooter since.
Gulf Shores city leaders said they’re in the process of reviewing city ordinances to see if there is a way to stiffen penalties for those who illegally carry or shoot a gun inside the city. City spokesperson, Grant Brown said increased minimum fines and jail time are possibilities.
