Harris County Sheriff's deputies raided an illegal game room and made several arrests in residential north Houston neighborhood early Friday, officials said.
“Today, our teams did some incredible work really disrupting a criminal network here that’s been impacting this residential community,” said Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.according to ONSCENE.TV“We are going to do everything we can to permanently close this establishment,” said Sean Teare, from the Harris County District Attorney's Office. “They had illegal gambling, narcotic sales, liquor sales, and multiple weapons were found here on the scene.
, “In addition to weapons, narcotics, and alcohol, investigators located a vehicle chop shop and an area possibly used for sex trafficking.”The sheriff hinted that the case may be related to earlier crimes. He said the owner of the gaming room is connected to a fatal crash that happened a few months ago at another business.
“These locations are magnets for drinking excessively, they’re spilling out into communities,” Gonzalez said. “We’ve had reports that sometimes there are school buses traveling down the street when the place lets out, sometimes 7 or 8 in the morning.”
