A city spokesperson said the elevators took on some water and need an extra day to dry out.
The MLK City Government Center in downtown Harrisburg will be closed Monday due to a burst pipe and ensuing water damage that occurred this weekend, according to city spokesman Matt Maisel.
Maisel said the issue took place in the basement, causing minor damage to some of the IT equipment and boxes. But the main reason behind the closure is due to the elevators, which need to be dried out after taking on some water, he said. “Because they’d [elevators] be out of commission tomorrow, that’s the main reason why the [building] will be closed,” Maisel said.The city plans to reopen the building to the public on Tuesday.
