Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams broke her silence Friday on a week of “tragic loss” that started with a fatal crash involving a city police officer and ended with a homicide at the crash memorial site.
Her remarks came a day after the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man at the memorial for another young man killed early Tuesday in a car crash.around 12:34 a.m. Tuesday at 19th and Holly streets. Police said the officer was on their way to assist with another emergency incident at the time of the crash.
“Unfortunately, community safety is a major issue everywhere. Both incidents are being thoroughly investigated and the process will ensure accountability,” Williams said.
