premiered 20 years ago, and Potterheads will be celebrating the film’s anniversary on a large scale just in time to ring in the new year.
Announced on November 16, HBO Max will premiere a special retrospective to celebrate the film’s legacy. Titled, the project will hit the streaming platform on January 1, 2022. According to the teaser’s description, the retrospective will focus on Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson — who played Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger throughout the saga’s eight-film run.
The iconic trio will be joined by filmmaker Chris Columbus, who produced the first three films, and other cast members from the movies. . During the special, the cast will take a trip down memory lane — quite literally — as they travel back to Hogwarts for the first time to celebrate the film that started it all. “The retrospective specialwill tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time,” the description continues.
