Q: I recently potted up young peppers. They are in a mix of peat seed mix and potting mix with compost. They were dusted with blood meal and bone meal, then watered with fish emulsion. Over the last two days, the older plants have begun to show this weird yellowing between the veins.This looks like classic chlorosis, with yellowing leaves and green veins on the entire leaf due to lack of chlorophyll. Nitrogen and iron deficiency both appear this way.

Q: I noticed a lot of spots on one of my Black Cherry tomato plants growing in a 20" container. It was only on a couple of leaves, so I wasn't concerned until I noticed how much it spread. What might this be and can I treat it? Should I be concerned about it spreading to my other tomato plants?This looks like a nutrient deficiency or something going on with the roots. Uneven watering is one of the biggest factors when it comes to tomato problems.

Air circulation is important for many vegetables, and this holds true for tomatoes. Do not plant them too closely together. Ensure plants get enough full sunlight, and stake or support when needed.
