A decade after a Northwestern quarterback's failed effort to form a union for college athletes, the spotlight has turned on the school again as it faces at least 13 lawsuits across sports related to allegations of hazing, sexual assault and racist abuse.

That includes meting out the retribution for whistleblowers.”In January 2014, Northwestern quarterback Kain Colter announced plans to form the first union for college athletes.
