The Trump administration is facing questions over how it plans to fight Covid-19, after initially sending mixed messages.
Appropriations Committee on February 26, 2020: Alex Azar, Health and Human Services Secretary, has angered Democrats after suggesting that a coronavirus vaccine might not be affordable for all Americans and that the Trump administration could not cap its price because of the need for private sector investment in Covid-19 research.
Questioning him was Democratic congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, who asked: “You’re saying that [a vaccine] will, for sure, be affordable for anyone who needs it?”
