Exclusive: Check out two tracks from Tribeca stunner Cinnamon, featuring vocals by haileykilgore and a unique score by DanielCiurlizza:
Cinnamon is a genre-bending film that has already wowed audiences at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and announced the arrival of Village Roadshow’s collaboration with NBA star Kevin Garnett in style. Written and directed by Bryian Keith Montgomery Jr., Cinnamon tells the tale of an aspiring singer whose life is uprooted when she is embroiled in a fatal crime.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Unsurprisingly, music is at the heart of Cinnamon, and Kilgore delivers fantastic performances both in terms of her acting and singing. To fill in the world outside of Kilgore’s work, the filmmakers enlisted Daniel Ciurlizza, a composer whose work can be heard across a range of media including films, trailers, and television.
Listen to Cinnamon—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and the Cinnamon—Music from the Motion Picture EP On June 23rd “Star Baby” and “The Longest Road” both point to the diversity of music present in Cinnamon. “Star Baby” is a riveting R&B track on which Kilgore’s vocals shine over Adrian Younge’s production, while “The Longest Road” is a prime example of the unique styles that Daniel Ciurlizza has blended for dramatic effect in his score.
Daniel Ciurlizza: My goal with Cinnamon's score and soundtrack was to give our audience something unexpected but easy to love. My philosophy as a film composer is to write scores as if they were pop songs to be played on the radio. I want people to have fun and be whistling these tunes by the time they're done watching our film or listening to our soundtrack.
Cinnamon will begin streaming on Tubi on June 23rd. Cinnamon—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and the Cinnamon—Music from the Motion Picture two-song EP will be released the same day courtesy of Lakeshore Records and can be streamed by clicking on their names, above.
