The 31st annual Heartland International Film Festival has unveiled its lineup of more than 115 feature films, including a closing screening of Darren Aronofsky's"The Whale" starring early Oscar favorite and Indianapolis native Brendan Fraser.heartlandfilmfestival.orgScreenings will be held at Newfields, Living Room Theaters, the Kan-Kan Cinema & Brasserie, Glendale Landmark 12, The Historic Artcraft Theatre in Franklin and the Indianapolis Art Center.
Fraser last visited Heartland in 2019, drawing multiple standing ovations at a 20th anniversary screening of"The Mummy." Heartland will open with another early awards favorite: Director Sacha Jenkins'"Louis Armstrong's Black & Blues," from Apple Original Films. ArmstrongThe lineup includes 11 world premieres, three U.S. premieres, 17 special presentations from major distributors and 11 Indiana Spotlight films.
