detailing the ins and outs of the last major vendor to get an overhaul in the game, Lord Saladin, now Valus Saladin, after he was traded to the Cabal for Crow’s life. But he’s still around running Iron Banner, and some sweeping changes are coming to the mode in season 17.
Bungie wants Iron Banner to be more of a holiday-like event, so it will be only be appearing for two weeks of the season, May 31 and July 12. If this continues, that would be just eight weeks of Iron Banner a year. In order to encourage more players to play Iron Banner, there is no longer power level enabling in the mode. Yes, this means you can use famously sunset weapons you may still have in your vault like Revoker, Mountaintop and Recluse .
There is a new introductory quest about all the changes coming to Iron Banner in season 17 that all players, even veterans, must go through in order to access Iron Banner.
