The southern periphery of a weak atmospheric river swept the Bay Area this weekend.
Walbrun said rain in June isn't completely out of the norm; the average rainfall for downtown San Francisco in June is 0.20, so with this system the city has reached its monthly average.
"It's great for the reservoirs in Marin," Walbrun said."The fire danger is going to be lowered for a few days. The places that saw a quarter to half inch in the North Bay, that's enough to at least temporarily lower fire danger." Showers are expected to taper off Sunday afternoon. Monday marks the start of a warming trend, with temperatures climbing into the 90s in inland areas and into the high 60s to low 70s along the coast.
