This news comes after a whirlwind of controversy at the beginning of the year surrounding Mielle's best-selling Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil.
to its Instagram page assuring fans there were no plans to change the Rosemary Mint Oil formula. That was on January 2; the news that Mielle would become a part of P&G Beauty broke nine days later.While product reformulation isn't unheard of after an acquisition, there is currently no indication that this will be the case for Mielle.
Monique Rodriguez shared the news of the acquisition via a video posted to the brand's Instagram account, shown above. For many people with natural hair, watching their favorite Black-owned hair-care brands merge with other companies or be bought out by big beauty conglomerates leaves a sour taste in their mouths as the uncertainty of what changes will happen to product formulations or branding — but Rodriguez reassured worried customers that Mielle's formulas will remain the same.
