AUSTIN, Texas — As Tropical Storm Beryl approaches the Texas coastline, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick has been acting governor.While I am in Taiwan, South Korea & Japan working on business deals worth billions, I remain in daily contact with Texas Division of Emergency Management & local officials to ensure preparation for Hurricane Beryl.Abbott is on a trip, which his office says is intended to bolster Texas' economy and strengthen ties to multiple Asian nations.
During his trip, he will travel to Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. Already, Abbott opened a State of Texas Taiwan Office to bolster trade between Texas and the East Asian nation.This office will bolster the economic and cultural cooperation between Texas and Taiwan by promoting more trade, investment, and collaboration.The governor's trip started Friday, and he is not expected to be back until Saturday, July 13. Until then, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick will act as governor of Texas.
