Law said the district is looking for as much normalcy as possible this school year but realizes not everyone is in a place to go about their studies and extracurricular activities as they did before. The coronavirus pandemic also impacted the school community the last two terms.“We want the students to have a normal school year this year,” Law said. “Normalcy may not be possible for everyone because of what occurred July Fourth. We’re also prepared for that.

Students enter Highland Park High School on the first day of class just over six weeks since the shooting at the city’s Fourth of July parade.
