Hilarie Burton is defending her friend and costar Sophia Bush amid claims that she began dating Chad Micheal Murray while he was with Erin Foster: 'It would be laughable if it wasn't so hurtful.'

She continued, "We were all told you'd broken up which is why our guy was perusing her. Now this is being spun to make my sister look like a brazen harlot. A representative for Foster didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment Monday. A rep for Burton declined to comment further., which premiered in 2003 and ran for nine seasons . Murray and Bush started dating the same year the show debuted and married in 2005, only to announce their separation five months later.
