North Texas flippers saw a gross profit margin of 20.5% in the fourth quarter, down 18% from a year earlier. The metro area saw one of the lowest returns for flips in the nation in 2021 at 16.1%. It was the largest number of flips in a year since Attom began tracking the transactions in 2000. The typical North Texas flip home was built in 1985 and had 1,729 square feet of space.
Only 25 counties saw home flips account for at least 10% of all home sales last year, with McCurtain County in southeast Oklahoma having the largest share of flippers at 15%.
