Communities Under the Bridge’s Dianna Talbert and Terrye Heagerty carry boxes of donated items out to a vehicle to give to Highland Hills Elementary on Thursday. Communities Under the Bridge partnered with Our Father’s House International to share donated children’s clothes with youngsters at Highland Hills Elementary School.Two parents, Adriana Carrillo, 36, and Michelle Delgado, 37, tethered and tightened straps to the bins for the trip to the Southside Independent School District school.

Cynthia Gonzales was moved to help when she heard that 95 percent of Highland’s students lived below the poverty level. Gonzales is CEO of the nonprofit Our Father’s House Worldwide. Her board seconded her request to adopt the school. Since Thanksgiving, the CEO has partnered with Jimenez to solve issues such as replacing stolen sports equipment.
