Crews were called to the hotel, in the Pearl complex, just before 11 a.m. for a person complaining of nausea and a headache. When medics arrived, several other people started complaining of the same symptoms, said Joe Arrington, a spokesman for the SAFD.Recognizing the symptoms as possible carbon monoxide poisoning, Hotel Emma was evacuated as a precaution, Arrington said.No other buildings on the Pearl property were impacted, and they remain open to visitors.
