Here are the highlights from the USA Indoor Championships this weekend.
Despite a slight stumble out of the blocks, Christian Coleman dominated the men’s 60-meters. The two-time world champion ran a world-leading time of 6.37 seconds to win the final.
Coleman holds the 60-meter world record of 6.34, which was set at the 2018 USATF Indoor Championships. His winning time on Saturday is the second-fastest time in history. Maurice Greene is No. 2 on theOn Friday, Coleman ran his 2020 season debut in the first round with a then-world lead of 6.48. Earlier on Saturday, he ran 6.51 to qualify for the final.
In the women’s 60 meters, Mikiah Brisco unleashed another world-leading time to win the title. The former LSU standout ran 7.04 to tie the current world lead in the event. Brisco set the previous world lead of 7.08 in the same facility on January 25.⏱: 3:44.07
