Here's a look at three notable developments in the Cougars' victory that sent them into Saturday's Elite Eight matchup against No. 2 Villanova:When the Cougars needed a big basket, Kyler Edwards delivered. Early in the second half, Arizona got within two points, the closest margin since 5-3. Edwards drilled a 3-pointer to boost UH's lead to five points. Another Edwards 3 with 7:46 left gave the Cougars a 12-point lead. He then saved his best for the game's home stretch.
Thirty-four seconds later, he delivered the dagger, a 3-pointer from the right wing for a 67-58 lead with 1:16 left and allowed the Cougars faithful to exhale knowing victory was almost assured.UH was not in an enviable position a little more than four minutes into the game, as senior guard Taze Moore picked up two quick fouls. Moore checked back in near the 12-minute mark, only to pick up his third foul a couple minutes later. Fortunately for the Cougars, freshman Ramon Walker Jr.
